Selena Gomez has a worldwide reputation as an actor and a singer. Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place was one of her most well-known projects. Her real name is Selena Marie Gomez. She was born July 22, 1993 in Grand Prairie Texas. The parents of Selena include Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. Selena's mother was just 16 when Selena first came to the scene. When she was just 9 years old, Selena landed her first role on the stage by playing Gianna on Barney and her Friends. The result was that she was a part of the world's most anthropomorphic and reptiles in the form of a purple dinosaur. Selena worked on several episodes in seasons 7 and 8 between 2001 until 2003. Selena was not the only performer who appeared on Barney and His Friends - Demi was also a part of the show in the period. Selena Gomez tried out for various roles following the departure of Barney and the Friends, but she was unsuccessful. Her role was only a tiny one in the 2003 film Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D Game Over) and another like Julie on Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. The role of Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her in 2006's Brain Zapped, for which she also wrote a music.
